While it’s more of a playground for little scientists than a school for adults, it’s a perfect family day out and sure to keep the little ones entertained.
Prepare for a bit of a hassle with ticketing, especially if you don’t have a local SIM, but trust me, the adventure inside the museum is well worth it. Just go with an open mind and a sense of fun, and you’ll have a blast!

The vast grounds definitely show that, situated in a unique location under a highway overpass, it creates an urban vibe that’s interesting yet unusual. The panda exhibit is an absolute highlight, but be ready to purchase a separate ticket to see these adorable fluffballs up close.
While the variety of animals is impressive, I was struck by the contrast between well-maintained enclosures and some that seemed outdated and small. It’s a lovely spot for kids to see elephants and exotic birds, but I couldn’t help but worry about certain animals’ welfare. Even so, if you’re in Beijing and want a blend of history and wildlife, it’s an interesting stop, especially for families.

Visiting the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall was an incredible experience! This part of the Wall is less crowded than the popular Badaling, allowing for a peaceful stroll while soaking in breathtaking mountain views. The well-maintained paths and secure environment make it perfect for families, and my kids had a blast with the cable car ride up and the thrilling toboggan slide down!
What stood out to me was the stunning greenery all around, which creates a perfect backdrop for family photos. I also loved the interactive wall cats that were a hit with the kids. The food options at the entrance were a nice touch, especially after a long hike; a little taste of home like Burger King made our day even better!
Whether you’re hiking, snapping pictures, or simply enjoying the views, Mutianyu is a must-visit. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes; you’ll thank me later when you’re climbing those stairs!

Although weekends can be quite crowded, trust me, the awe-inspiring views and peaceful corners make it completely worth it. Just be prepared to walk a bit, as there are many steps, and maybe bring a snack since food options inside are limited!
Whether you’re climbing to the highest pagoda or wandering through lush pathways, the Summer Palace offers a delightful escape from the bustling city. It’s a treat for your eyes and a perfect introduction to China’s rich cultural heritage!

Exploring the park, I loved finding cozy spots for picnics or leisurely walks among the blooms. The kids can enjoy the fun at Pop Land, although ticket prices made me do a double-take! The playgrounds were everywhere, and while I can handle the thrills, I could do without the bugs. Still, the food options and relaxed atmosphere made it a great day out.
